Emma Frank Quartet offers rich pieces with accents sometimes folk, sometimes jazz and sometimes even R’n’B. Stuffed with changes of tempo and sinuous melodies, the music bewitches by its finesse. The lyrics written by singer Emma Frank approach love and life with authenticity and maturity.

Most recently, Emma’s voice and songs have been compared to those of a young Joni Mitchell. Its aerial song, described by Leif Vollebeck as “leather on silk”, transports the listener to a warm and comforting universe.

Emma has had the opportunity to play at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, North by Northeast, Pop Montreal and recently at the Quebec International Jazz Festival. His Album, For Being Apart, captured the attention of critics and fans of folk and jazz alike. Released on The 270 sessions in June 2014, we find on the album Isis Giraldo on piano, Phil Melanson on drums, Hans Bernard on bass and Martin Rodriguez on production. From now on, we find Simon Millerd on trumpet, Marc Béland on drums, still Isis Giraldo on piano and Gabriel Drolet on bass. The group brilliantly interprets Emma’s compositions with delicacy and warmth and is preparing a new album for spring 2015 as well as a tour across Canada.
